Double A-side Single #34

When I first started at my current job, we had a studio manager named Kevin. Though we only chatted briefly when we’d cross paths in the hallways, I always got a good vibe from him and enjoyed having him as part of our team. One day early on in my career, I was doing some work on an album called Can I Change My Mind by a gentleman named Tyrone Davis. This was another artist and album I had never heard of before, but another one that I enjoyed immediately and all the way through. I brought in a coworker of mine, Tim, to check it out, figuring it would be something he would dig as well, which he did. Later in the day, Tim and I were going to lunch, so we dropped by Kevin’s office to let him know we’d be gone for a bit. Tim also mentioned this album to Kevin in passing and Kevin said, “Tyrone Davis? My uncle used to play with him.” Such a small world sometimes.
