Double A-side Single #66

Sometimes an era can be defined by a sound. One era I think a lot of people are able to recognize pretty easily when they hear it is the 1980s. While there was definitely a lot of cheese and overindulgence during that time, there were still plenty of great artists making a lot of great music. One band that always comes to mind when I think of the ’80s is The Cars. Despite their first two records actually coming out in the late-’70s, they really seemed to utilize the synthetic sounds of the ’80s well, creating music that sounded of the era and yet timeless all at the same time. I suppose that just speaks to the quality of the songwriting itself.
