I had a second job for about five years, working in the evening at a studio that did audio transfers for various record labels and artists. The owner of the company and I got along pretty well and would talk music all the time. One night we were hanging out on the patio of the building, discussing guitarists, and he brought up the name Michael Schenker. I had absolutely no clue who Michael Schenker was. Then he mentioned the band UFO, and I again had no idea who he was talking about. I was given two CDs about a week later, one called Phenomenon and another called Lights Out. I didn’t really connect with Lights Out, but I thought Phenomenon was a real gem, and it ended up staying in my car stereo for a solid month.
