The song “Spirit In The Sky” by Norman Greenbaum was a favorite of a buddy of mine in high school. That’s how I became familiar with it, and I definitely dug it from the get-go. Many years later, I had the good fortune to work on a reel of demos for the Spirit In The Sky album, as well as the album itself. Though I certainly enjoyed hearing “Spirit In The Sky” in both of those instances, there was actually another song that caught my ear that I had never heard until then.
