One of my favorite venues of all-time is this small jazz club in Studio City, CA called The Baked Potato. And when I say “small,” I mean small. This place probably holds less than a hundred people, making the experience akin to watching a full band play in your living room. You’ll typically see studio or touring musicians play this place or even small side projects for musicians who are in more well-known bands. One of these side projects I never try to miss is a band called Bombastic Meatbats Featuring Chad Smith, a jazz fusion group anchored by the drummer from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
