The first of today’s songs originally came to my attention through a cover version done by one of my favorite bands, Primus. Primus came out with an EP many years ago called Rhinoplasty, which consisted of a few originals by the band and some covers, this Jerry Reed song being one of them. For quite a while, I just enjoyed the Primus version and didn’t really dive into finding out who did the original. When I eventually found out, it was actually by happenstance. I wanted to listen to another song I like by Jerry Reed, but when I looked up the song I wanted to play, sure enough, there was “Amos Moses” listed right along with it.
