Memorial Day is a day of remembrance. Though dedicated to the memories of those that gave their lives in the service of the military, the holiday got me thinking about some of the musicians that have recently passed away as well. Last week, Alan White, longtime drummer for the band Yes, succumbed to illness, joining bandmate Chris Squire in the great beyond. In reading about White after his passing, I was surprised to learn that I knew more of White’s drumming than I had previously thought, which included this session with John Lennon.
