I had a buddy in San Diego who was a big Jethro Tull fan. He had seen them many times throughout the years, and he told me a fun story about attending one of their shows. If I remember correctly, I believe this was during their tour after releasing the album A Passion Play. At the start of the show, Ian Anderson walked down this flight of stairs that was set up on stage as the rest of the band played, casually twirling his flute as he made his way to the microphone. Upon approaching the mic, he flung the flute high into the air and, in one motion, caught it while bringing it to his lips to play and propping one foot up on the side of the opposite knee. What a showman.
