There’s a classic idiom that states “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Truer words were never spoken when it comes to the music of John 5. For those that aren’t familiar, John 5 was a guitarist for Marilyn Manson (amongst playing with many others prior to that) and currently plays with Rob Zombie. Couple those two associations with John 5’s stage appearance, and one would likely get the impression that John 5’s music would be a nonstop assault of hard and heavy music. While some of that is certainly well-represented, there are many more layers of the John 5 onion to peel back.
