When I first chose these songs, the only thing I was thinking about was the idea of highlighting music with a connection to Michigan. As I started to type this intro, I thought more about the songs themselves and had to laugh. Without even realizing it, I ended up choosing two songs that each have very distinct drum-only intros, were both released in the same year, and are the title tracks from each of their respective albums. Funny how the mind works sometimes.
