Double A-side Single #32

Radiohead did a tour in 2008 in support of their album, In Rainbows, that had come out the year prior. They were scheduled to play the Hollywood Bowl, and I was all-in on trying to get tickets. At that point, they were at the top of my list of bands that I had never seen live that I wanted to see. I tried my damnedest to buy tickets online when they went on sale without any luck. Periodically, I would check Ticketmaster in the time leading up to the show to see if something popped up. No luck. About a week before the show, I attended an event with my two roommates, one of their girlfriends, and a couple of other friends. Towards the end of the event, my roommate’s girlfriend pulled me aside and said, “Hey, a coworker of mine has a couple of extra tickets to the Radiohead show at the Bowl. His friends pulled out and he’s looking to dump them. You interested?” I jumped at the chance of course. He was so cool about it, too, and only charged me face value, knowing that I was a fan. What a score.
