I came across the East Bay Grease record by Tower Of Power about 10 years ago. I only heard small clips of it at the time, but I made a mental note to look into Tower Of Power in the future, intrigued by even the little bit that I had heard. Some time passed and, before I got a chance to investigate this band on my own, their self-titled album happened to come across my desk. This was a record that grabbed my attention immediately after I hit play, especially being a rhythm section player. I made it a point thereafter to always look for the Tower Of Power album any time I went to the record store. Luckily, I managed to snag a nice sounding copy after only a few outings.
