This past Sunday, I started thinking about songs that are associated with numbers. This may have been because I had a friend over Saturday night and introduced him to some early Chicago, who have some great number songs and also number most of their releases. Two artists I immediately thought of when contemplating this subject were Jimi Hendrix and the Doors. While I love each of the songs I thought of, I had already settled on a different Jimi Hendrix tune as my first pick for him before this idea came about. As one does many times in life, I decided to compromise. I’m glad I did, too, as I now know that both of these albums came out the same year.
