We’re heading back to Europe in 1977 for both of the songs today. It’s hard to believe that’s almost 45 years ago. It sounds like a long time when I say it out loud, but it doesn’t feel like a long time as I get older. Maybe that’s a good thing, but I digress. Thin Lizzy was a band I was aware of pretty early on in my childhood, though I only knew one song, “The Boys Are Back In Town.” During my first year or two of college, I got ahold of a Smashing Pumpkins bootleg called Unplugged – 100% Pure Acoustic Performances, containing a cover of the song “Dancing In The Moonlight (It’s Caught Me In Its Spotlight).” It was a beautiful rendition, though I had no idea that it was a Thin Lizzy cover at the time. When I eventually found out, I went exploring.
