Living in Los Angeles for as long as I have, I decided to try and learn Spanish towards the end of 2019. I knew a few words here and there before this, but I really wanted to be able to hold a conversation with someone or at least have some basic understanding of what people were talking about if I heard it. Beyond using an app and trying to speak with some friends and coworkers, I decided to start listening to Spanish radio when I drive. There are a few options for stations, but the one I tend to listen to the most is KLAX-FM 97.9 (“La Raza! La Raza! Noventa y siete punto nueve!” as the jingle says). Even in the short time I’ve listened to this station, I’ve managed to come across some artists and songs that I really enjoy, one of which is a gentleman named Christian Nodal.
