Dr. John is another one of those artists that didn’t come to my attention until I started my current job. I got a chance to QC his first album early on in my career and, while it wasn’t anything that really blew me away, it interested me enough to make a mental note about him and ask around. I got some recommendations for a couple of other albums to check out, which I did shortly thereafter, and my appreciation grew from there. A few years later, I was fortunate enough to see him play a free show at the Santa Monica Pier with my buddy Bobby. Right place, right time I guess.
