I was fortunate enough to have some really good teachers growing up. One of my favorites while I was in junior high school was a guy named Mr. King, who was my science teacher in 7th and 8th grade. During that second year, I had this little, tie-dye colored transistor radio, about the size of a cassette tape, that I’d bring to school sometimes. One day I decided to see if I could get away with listening to the radio in science class. I kept the radio in my front pocket, strung some earbuds up through the long-sleeved shirt I was wearing and down my left arm, and kept the buds in my hand. All I had to do at that point was put my elbow on my desk and lean my head into my hand; worked like a charm. One of the songs I remember hearing during this covert operation was this gem by Blues Traveler.
