Since this site’s inception, I have been consciously trying to not repeat artists yet. For me, that even meant not using songs performed by solo artists who were previously in bands I already named a song from. The more I thought about it, however, the more I softened on this guideline. I mean, if studio musicians can play on multiple recordings by different artists, why can’t a band member’s solo work be recognized at this point? With it being Christmas, today is a great day to break this self-imposed restriction as well, because a couple of my favorite Christmas songs happen to be written by former Beatles.
