High school was the time where I really started to have a deeper focus and appreciation for playing and enjoying music. I had abandoned playing sports by that point, much to the chagrin of my father, but music became a fine substitute that kept me occupied and out of trouble. Recently, I was thinking about all of the music they used to play at various functions throughout the year, like school dances, pep rallies, etc. I don’t think there was a single one I attended where one, if not both, of these songs didn’t get played after they came out.
