Though most of my parents’ music collection was on vinyl and was typically my go-to as a young child, they also had a limited number of CDs that I would occasionally pick stuff from to listen to as well. One CD I played and sang to a lot was David Lee Roth’s Skyscraper, and, of all the songs on that record that I would listen to, I probably came back to the song “Damn Good” more than any other. While I really enjoyed the song, I’m sure some of the appeal was being able to say the word “damn” and get away with it as well.
