One of my favorite covers of a song is The Everly Brothers doing this tune by Merle Haggard on their album Roots. As I’ve mentioned previously with a couple of other songs, the cover version was actually my first introduction to the song as a whole. I had a friend whose cousin was Merle Haggard fan, and I believe he was the one who ultimately informed me that this was a song by Haggard, if memory serves me correctly.
