Even if I lost eight of my fingers, I would still have enough left over to count the total number of flute players I could name. One is Ian Anderson of the band Jethro Tull, a group that already appeared relatively early on in this list, and the other is Herbie Mann, for whom today marks his first appearance here. Herbie Mann is another one of those work-assisted discoveries for me, having worked on a number of his albums from the ’60s and ’70s. This title track is one that always stuck with me.
