Perhaps it was the mood I was in at the time, perhaps it was what I was working on, but today was another one of those days of spontaneous musical recall. There were two songs that popped into my head earlier today, both of which I knew the titles of but could not remember the artists who sang them. After looking the songs up, I had one of those “of course!” moments for one of them; the other I wouldn’t have gotten. Funny enough, the one I feel I should have known came out the exact same year as the stuff I was working on, 1985, so it seemed a good omen to make it one of today’s picks.
