For me, The Blues Brothers is one of those movies where you can completely miss the overall plot and still really enjoy it because of the humor and the music. This was probably the first time I ever saw the likes of Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and John Lee Hooker perform “live.” But it wasn’t just these legendary names holding it down, the seasoned music vets of the Blues Brothers band, along with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, absolutely killed it with their performances as well.
