Having lived the first 23 years of my life in Michigan, there’s a certain appreciation I have for the changing of the seasons. When you’re a kid, the winter can be a fun time filled with snowballs, sledding, building forts, sliding around on the ice, and you might even get a chance to miss a day or two of school. As you get older and the relationship builds in responsibility, e.g. shoveling out the sidewalks and driveways and navigating the road conditions, the fun may start to wane, but some character begins to build. Regardless of where you’re at in this relationship, I think everyone looks forward to the coming spring and summer months, and sometimes there are songs that perfectly capture the feeling you have when you eventually get there.
