To say that there have been a lot of great guitarists throughout musical history is certainly an understatement. Considering how many greats there have been, it’s a nice treat when you can find someone new. In the relatively early days of Elektra Records, the same year The Beatles made their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in fact, the label released an album called Adventures For 12-String, 6-String, And Banjo by a guitarist named Dick Rosmini. This was another early, on-the-job discovery for me. When I mentioned this album and artist to Scott, a mastering engineer I worked with, he said, “Dick Rosmini? I had a professor at USC named Dick Rosmini.” After I showed him a picture of Rosmini, he said, “That’s him! I didn’t know he played guitar!” Priceless.
