As I mentioned before, my paternal grandmother and I used to watch various TV shows together when she would babysit me, one of them being The Monkees. I can’t say that I remember a single episode at this point, but I’ll always remember the opening credits and their theme song. Being as young as I was, I had no idea that I was watching reruns of a show that was actually almost 20 years old, nor that The Monkees were a group specifically made up for the show. They managed to make a hell of a career out of it though, and I think the quality of the music is what ultimately led the charge.
