In my youth, our local mall was pretty much where everybody I knew would go to buy their music. One of our parents would usually drop us off, or, if they were all working and we were on our own, we’d make the trek on foot. On one occasion when we hoofed it, we thought it would be a good idea to get there in as straight of a line as possible, which involved hopping fences to cut through peoples’ backyards. Everything was fine until we hit the last yard, just as the homeowner was coming out of the house. I don’t think any of us ever ran so fast in our lives. And all so a friend could buy this album by the band Cracker.
