My mom used to frequently call in to radio stations when I was a kid, attempting to win money via contests that they would hold throughout the day. I think she actually managed to win two or three through the years, but the one that I remember vividly involved The Righteous Brothers. When she got through to the station, the DJ played a snippet of one of their songs and she had to sing the next few lines to win $1000. Needles to say, she killed it, and when she went to the station to pick up the money, they gave her a cassette copy of her appearance on the air.
